Montgomery County Women's Center in Conroe Gives Out 21 Scholarships

CONROE, TX — The Montgomery County Women's Center recently awarded 21 scholarships to domestic violence survivors.

Although the women suffered various forms of abuse — physical, emotional, sexual — and came from different backgrounds, each one impressed center staff with her determination to gain necessary job and education skills.

Some of the women will use the scholarship money to learn English, while others will use it to finish their bachelors degrees. Many of the women expressed gratitude towards the center and a desire to 'pay it forward.'
