Kirby Leads In Montgomery ISD Race; Moffatt Ahead In Magnolia ISD
Patch has the latest unofficial results from school board races for Montgomery ISD and Magnolia ISD in the May 1 election.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — Trey Kirby leads the race for Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees Position 4, and Travis Moffatt has the lead in his bid for Magnolia ISD School Board Position 6 in Saturday's election.
There is a three-way race in Montgomery ISD between incumbent Kirby, Christina Sato and Jay Grimes. In Magnolia ISD, incumbent Moffatt is running against Sharon Craig. Both Montgomery and Magnolia school board members serve three-year terms.

Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees, Position 4
TREY KIRBY: 568 (48.88%)
CHRISTINA SATO: 351 (30.21%)
JAY GRIMES: 243 (20.91%)

TRAVIS MOFFATT: 862 (63.24%)

Kirby is a commercial real estate adviser and a two-term member of the Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees. Grimes is a regional sales manager at M&I Electric and has two children in Montgomery ISD schools. Sato is a former intern for former Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, has three children who attend Montgomery schools and performs at the Crighton and Owen theatres.
Moffatt is an optometrist and owner of Moffatt Eye Care in Magnolia, where he has lived since 2006. Craig is a retired teacher, having spent 10 years in public education, including two teaching at Magnolia High School. She is a freelance tutor, Spanish interpreter and editor.
