Montgomery, TX Announces Property Tax Rate of $0.4155 per $100
The city of Montgomery, TX announced this year's tax rate of $0.4155 per $100 of valuation.

MONTGOMERY, TX— The city of Montgomery has announced that it will be implementing a property tax rate of $0.4155 per $100 of valuation.
Although, the new rate is the same as the 2015-2016 tax rate, it is substantially higher than the effective tax rate of $0.3442 per $100 of valuation.
The effective rate is the total tax rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue from the same properties in both the 2015 tax year and the 2016 tax year.

While the city has not increased its tax rate, it is very possible that because property values have increased individual homeowners will see their property taxes increase.

Montgomery residents will have two opportunities to express their views about the city's proposed tax rate by attending hearings at City Hall, 101 Old Plantersville Rd.
The first hearing will be held on Friday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m. The second hearing will also be held at 6 p.m. on the following Friday, Aug. 26.
