MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer in Montgomery County, and this year, many residents will mark the new season with a three-day weekend filled with memorial services, outdoor events and backyard barbecues.

At this point, your weekend is likely planned to a T. But, as most of us know, Mother Nature could always step in and ruin that carefully outlined itinerary with a trifecta of rain, storms and cloudy skies.

Unfortunately, it looks as if that might be the case for Memorial Day weekend in Montgomery County, according to the most recent forecast for our area.

The National Weather Service is forecasting moderate to heavy rain Friday night through Saturday, and has issued a river flood warning in Montgomery County until 7 p.m. Sunday.

The news gets better, though, as the forecast for Sunday and Monday is mostly clear skies with highs in the low-80s, perfect weather for a day at Lake Conroe or one of the local pools.
