Softball: The Woodlands, Lake Creek Set For Regional Semifinals
The Woodlands took down third-ranked Cy-Woods last week, and Lake Creek kept its undefeated season intact. See who they play this weekend.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — The Woodlands and Lake Creek are the lone two Montgomery County softball teams remaining in the UIL State Softball Playoffs.
The regional semifinals are this weekend, and undefeated Lake Creek (37-0) is set for a one-game playoff for the second straight week in Class 5A. The third-ranked Lions dominated in a 16-0 win over Magnolia West in the regional quarterfinals Friday and will take on No. 10 Crosby at 8 p.m. Thursday at Grand Oaks. Crosby swept seventh-ranked Santa Fe in the regional quarterfinals.
In 6A, The Woodlands (22-13) stayed hot, sweeping sixth-ranked Cypress Woods in a regional quarterfinal series. The Highlanders will face Bryan (33-10) in a best-of-3 series in the Region II semifinals. Bryan took two of three from third-ranked Waco Midway last week.
