State Golf: Montgomery Girls Earn Silver Medal In 5A Tournament
Montgomery senior Remington Isaac tied for 4th to lead Montgomery Co. individual efforts. The Woodlands' Avery Blake tied for eighth in 6A.
GEORGETOWN — The Montgomery girls golf team shot 613 to grab second place in Class 5A at the UIL Girls Golf Championships, held Monday and Tuesday at White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown.
Senior Remington Isaac shot 144, including a 2-under par 70 in the opening round Monday, to tie for fourth in the individual championship. Ceci Lococo (152), Eryn Garza (154), Gabbie Culver (163) and Kimberly Tiefenbach (172) rounded out the Bears' lineup.
Montgomery fell four strokes short of state champion Alamo Heights.

Magnolia's Brandee Fleming, Halle Brumfield, Allie Ebbeler, Solene Malezieux and Lily Roeder carded a team score of 670 to finish 11th. Fleming led the Bulldogs, shooting 152.
In the 6A tournament, held at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown, The Woodlands finished ninth, and College Park was 11th.

The Woodlands' Avery Blake led the Highlanders with an eighth-place individual finish at 148, helping them to a team score of 630.
College Park shot 640, led by Gracie Heinle's 159. Lewisville Hebron shot 598 to win the 6A state title.
The boys 5A and 6A state tournaments will be held Monday and Tuesday at the same locations.
