State Highway 105 Between Conroe and Montgomery Gets Access Management Study

A stretch of State Highway 105 between Conroe and Montgomery will be studied by TxDOT.

Conroe, TX -- TxDOT will be studying a nearly 14 mile stretch of State Highway 105 between Conroe and Montgomery throughout the rest of the summer and into the fall. The study will examine if the road needs to be upgraded to deal with increasing traffic from the area's ongoing growth.

TxDOT will examine both short and long-term solutions to help alleviate traffic congestion and reduce the number of collisions on the road. Car crashes on SH 105 have been steadily increasing over the last few years.

In 2012 there were about 200 collisions along the state highway. By 2014, the most recent figures available, the number of crashes had increased to more than 250.

The department of transportation will consider adding designated right-turn and left-turn lanes, raised medians, traffic signals and changing signal timing. TxDOT will also look at driveway design as a way to increase public safety.
