Now that HB 1927 has passed both chambers of the Texas Legislature, it will go back to committee for approval of amendments before being sent to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to be signed. Abbott previously said he would sign the bill into law if it reached his desk.
Creighton represents District 4, which includes all of Liberty and Orange counties and parts of Chambers, Harris, Jefferson and Montgomery counties. Creighton has been a member of the Texas Legislature since 2007, including a Senator since 2014, when he won the special election after Tommy Williams resigned.
