Stores Open For Black Friday Shopping On Thanksgiving Day

HOUSTON — The sound of cash registers ringing will be music to the ears of retailers as they open their doors for the start of Christmas shopping season on Thanksgiving Day.

The day traditionally known as Black Friday, has in years past began the day after Thanksgiving. However, that has changed inn recent years with many retailers opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day.

Retailers who will open late on Thanksgiving Day include:

• JC Penney………………………..2 p. m.
• Best Buy………………………….5 p.m.
• Kohls……………………………...5 p.m.
• Target……………………………..5 p.m.
• Walmart…………………………..6 p.m.
• Macy’s …………………………...5 p.m.
• Sears……………………………...6 p.m.
• Old Navy………………………….4 p.m.
• Beall’s……………………………..5 p.m.

Several retailers will open early Thursday morning, a day ahead of traditional Black Friday shopping. The stores that plan to open before noon on Thursday include Walgreen’s, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, Big Lots, and Dollar General.
