TxDOT Plans North I-45 Closure This Weekend

THE WOODLANDS, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has will close sections of Interstate 45 this weekend, officials said.

The closure is scheduled for 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25 to 5 a.m., Monday, Jan. 28, pending favorable weather conditions. Officials planned the closure last weekend , but weather conditions were too wet and cold to lay concrete.

Motorists using the southbound I-45 lanes from evening Jan. 25 through the early morning of Jan. 28 will need to exit the interstate at the Rayford/Sawdust roads exit, drive southbound on the feeder road, and re-enter the interstate at the on-ramp about a half mile south of Sawdust Road, officials said.

The u-turn lanes underneath the overpass will also be closed during the construction project.
Find alternate routes and/or plan enough time to make it to your destination. This will be a major closure and Drivers are urged to use alternate routes to get to their destination.
