Young-Hector, Brown Lead In Willis City Council Races

WILLIS — Tamara Young-Hector and William Brown are leading in their respective Willis City Council races on Saturday night.

Former Councilwoman Young-Hector is challenging incumbent Thomas Belinoski for his Position 3 seat, and Brown, the incumbent for Position 5, is running against Juan C. Cristales. City Council terms are two years.

The latest results as of 9:12 p.m. with 8 of 8 precincts reporting and early votes tabulated:

Position 3
THOMAS BELINOSKI: 32 (52.46%)
TAMARA YOUNG-HECTOR: 84 (62.22%)

WILLIAM BROWN: 117 (90%)
JUAN C. CRISTALES: 13 (10%)

Young-Hector served on the Willis City Council for 10 years. She was charged with a state felony in June 2019 for tampering with government documents, according to The Conroe Courier. She resigned her seat and, in October 2019, pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor.

Belinoski has served on the council for 22 years.

Brown is a teacher and is on his first term as a councilman.
