Willis Man Gets 30 Years for Shooting Step-Brother After Argument
A Willis-area resident was sentenced to 30 years for shooting his step brother following an argument.

CONROE, TX — Curtis Harrison, 32, of Willis, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for shooting his step-brother following an argument.
On October 13, 2015, Harrison got into a verbal argument with his step-brother. During the argument the step-brother slapped Harrison.
Harrison pulled a gun and shot his step-brother twice, hitting him once in the chest with a through-and-through. Turned out the injury wasn't life threatening and the step-brother was treated at a local hospital.

On Tuesday, Aug. 9, Harrison was convicted in Montgomery County's 9th District Court, with Judge Phil Grant presiding. On Friday, Aug. 12, Grant sentenced Harrison to 30 years on the shooting and 20 years for being a felon in possession of a fire arm.

Harrison had previously served time upstate on a 2008 drugs charge. He'd also been convicted for assaulting a family member and evading arrest.
Since Harrison had previously been a guest of the state, the possible punishments for his actions ranged from 5-life for the shooting and 2-20 for the weapons charge.
