HARLINGEN, TX -- The nation is about to celebrate its 241st birthday, and it's time to watch the glorious explosions we know as fireworks. Events in the Harlingen area range from simple fireworks shows to day-long extravaganzas.

• Mayor Pablo Pena City Park. Petting zoo, bungee games, food, spirits and more. Event ends at 10 p.m.
