The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a cost of living increase for the 2021-2022 school year during a special board meeting Tuesday night.

“The last school year brought forth many challenges to members of our HCISD family, and this cost of living increase is well-deserved,” said Superintendent Dr. Alicia Noyola. “I thank our Board of Trustees for remaining fiscally responsible while supporting our staff and commending their commitment to the success of our students.”

Teachers received an increase of $1,500, while administration and other professionals were given an increase of 2.5 percent. An increase of 3 percent was also approved for hourly staff.
