Harlingen Finance Department Receives Prestigious Honor

The Harlingen Finance Department has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Financial Officers Association. This honor reflects the City’s commitment to meet the highest standards of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit association serving nearly 20,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The Certificate of Achievement Program was started in 1945 to encourage local governments to go above and beyond the minimum requirements when preparing financial reports.

The Finance Department was recognized during the City Commission Meeting of February 19 for the great job that the employees do. This is the 34th year that the Harlingen Finance Department has received this award. Congratulations to Finance Director, Robert Rodriguez, and his staff.
