HARLINGEN, TEXAS–Filming for the movie “Gift of an Angel” will move to Harlingen’s historic Jackson Avenue on November 18.

Heart of Christmas LLC, a film production company based in Texas with offices in Los Angeles and the United Kingdom is currently shooting in Harlingen. The movie stars Alyssa Milano, Christian de la Fuente, Angel Parker, and Eva Ariel Binder.
Last week, they used the Harlingen Municipal Court to shoot scenes for the movie while this week they’re filming at a privately owned Harlingen location.

In preparation for the filming in downtown, the City of Harlingen set up the Christmas decorations a little early. Decorations are usually hung the week before Thanksgiving but since the family film centers around the Christmas holiday, they were set up in time for next week’s filming. Business owners on Jackson have also begun to decorate their windows for the holiday.
Several streets will be closed for the filming starting at 7 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Monday, November 18. Those streets include:
Jackson from A to 4th
A Street from Monroe to Van Buren
1st Street from Monroe to Van Buren
2nd Street from Monroe to Van Buren and the Harry E. Day Memorial Parking Lot between 1st & 2nd will also be closed.
Businesses that usually open on Mondays will be open during the filming. Parking will be allowed on Jackson however vehicles in the areas where filming is taking place will have to remain there until the filming is done.
The Harlingen City Commission last week approved an Economic Development Program grant of $5,000 for Heart of Christmas LLC. The company is recognizing the City of Harlingen as the filming location in its marketing efforts and press releases and the movie will include a closing credit recognizing the City of Harlingen as the filming location.
