The Battleship Texas is featured in a USA Today readers poll of best museum ships in the country.

La Porte, TX -- The Battleship Texas is featured in a USA Today contest to determine the best museum ship in the U.S. At this writing The Mighty T is number three, behind the USS Midway aircraft carrier and the battleship USS Iowa.
Voting is open to anyone, no registration or account required. In addition to being a popular day trip destination for families and schools, the Battleship Texas is recognized for achieving many firsts during her 30-plus year career in active service.

The Texas was the first U.S. Navy vessel to house a permanent garrison of U.S. Marines and the first battleship to launch an aircraft. It was also the first battleship outfitted with directors and range finders to control its gunfire and the first battleship equipped with anti-aircraft guns.
The Might T is also the last remaining capital ship to have served in both world wars.
