Can The Houston Texans Pull Off A Big Wild Card Win?

The Texans and Colts split the season series 1-1, and arm chair quarterbacks are split on a deciding game 3.

HOUSTON, TX — Can the Houston Texans do it?

The team that started their 2018 season with a 0-3 record in September, did the improbable in the eyes of their fans and won their division with an 11-5 record.

Now, the playoffs are here, and the Texans will host the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Wild Card game at NRG Stadium on Saturday.

It’s a big game for a lot of reasons, and it will likely be the first of many for Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson who is hoping for a big day against the Colts defense and will often be looking for DeAndre Hopkins who literally catches everything thrown in his direction.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Texans J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and the rest of the Texans defense will be looking to stop Colts quarterback and Houston native Andrew Luck and his favorite targets wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and tight end Eric Ebron from having a good day.

If the Texans hope to win and go on the road against a tough Patriots team in Foxboro, they need to capitalize in the red zone with touchdowns instead of field goals, manage the clock, and open up running lanes for running back Lamar Miller.

On defense, the line needs to do the impossible and contain Luck within the pocket, while the secondary needs to play tight to the receivers.

In short, the Texans need to play a complete game for four solid quarters, something of a rarity this season.

The question is, can the Texans do it?

The Texans and Colts split the season series at 1-1, with both games decided by 3-point margins. Although the Colts and Hilton have owned the Texans secondary for years, the odds may be in the

Texans favor for a close Wild Card win.

Kick off is at 3:35 p.m.
