Driver Beware: TxDOT Closing I-45 South In Downtown This Weekend

HOUSTON — More traffic headaches loom for motorists traveling through downtown on Interstate 45 this weekend. The Texas Department of Transportation announced closures to the southbound lanes from Allen Parkway to Interstate 69.

Crews will shut down those portions of I-45 at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, and reopen those lanes at 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4.

The closure comes a week after TxDOT closed the I-45/I-69/SH 288 interchange for demolition of the left exit ramp.

The closure for the interchange ramp will last at least six months.
