Elderly Woman Killed In Shooting That Wounded 11-Year-Old Girl
The child was an inadvertent victim of a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in a Houston suburb, Harris County police said.
TOMBALL, TX — An elderly woman was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting incident that also wounded an 11-year-old girl in a Houston suburb early Sunday morning. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the death of the woman Sunday before 8 a.m.
Gonzalez said sheriff's police officers responded to the shooting in the 23000 block of Bettywood Lane in Tomball around 1:30 a.m. to find the elderly woman suffering from "sustained gunshot wounds."
It was a relative of the victim who returned fire and inadvertently hit an 11-year-old girl in a nearby home, Gonzalez said. The 11-year-old sustained minor injuries in the gunfire.

The identity of the woman who died was not immediately available Sunday morning.
