FIDF Appoints Eliza Quigley as South Texas Executive Director

Quigley, a Galveston native, comes to FIDF with a decade of experience as a senior executive and nonprofit leader

Today, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) announced the appointment of Eliza Kempner Quigley to the role of South Texas Executive Director.

Quigley, a Galveston native, comes to FIDF with a decade of experience as a senior executive and nonprofit leader, bringing deep understanding and expertise in program development, fundraising, and donor relations. She also serves as the President of the Harris & Eliza Kempner Fund, having served on the Board of Directors for 14 years in various roles before becoming the first of her generation to lead her family’s philanthropic endeavors into the sixth and seventh generations. As President of the Board, she oversees a $50 million corpus with over $3 million in annual grant allocations.

“I am thrilled that Eliza has joined FIDF as the new South Texas Director,” said FIDF South Texas Board President Eyal Shavitzky. “Eliza joins us with substantial hands-on experience from serving as a senior leader within the not-for-profit world of charitable and social service organizations. I am confident that she will successfully lead our organization’s growth and am looking forward to working with her to continue supporting the courageous men and women of the IDF who nobly protect the people of the State of Israel.”

Quigley holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Boston University. While at the University of Texas School of Social Work, she specialized in Administration and Planning, and studied at the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service. She is certified in Alcohol and Drug Counseling Skills by the University of California, Los Angeles. She holds a certification in Fine & Decorative Arts from Christie’s Auctioneers & the Royal Society of Arts in London and previously worked for a private art dealer in New York and for Sotheby’s Auctioneers in Los Angeles.

“I am thrilled to work closely with our dedicated South Texas Board members and to engage the American and Israeli communities in South Texas who are taking great effort to support our brave soldiers,” said Quigley. “I am excited by the work FIDF does and eager to further the success of our mission.”
