Free Churrascos Meals Going To Harris County First Responders

The initiative to help comes amid a record-breaking cold spell that still has hundreds of thousands of Texans without power.

HOUSTON, TX — Employees at the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the downtown Houston jail will be thanked with free meals from a popular Houston-area steakhouse chain for their ability to work through a crippling winter storm that has caused multiple deaths and still leaves several thousand without power.

Meals from Churrascos will be delivered directly to employees at the downtown jail Thursday night and another two times on Friday, according to a news release. The initiative is through a partnership between Mattress Mack and Gallery Furniture with World Central Kitchen.

In all, 1,500 meals are expected to be delivered over the 24-hour span from Thursday evening to Friday evening.
