Harris County Attorney Sues Two Northwest Houston Businesses for Promoting Prostitution and Gambling
The Harris County Attorney's Office sued two Northwest Houston businesses for promoting prostitution and gambling.

HOUSTON, TX — To say that the Bayou City likes its whores and cards is a little like saying Texas is hot in the summer, a bit of an understatement.
There are some poker players who claim it's easier to find a game in Houston than anywhere outside of Vegas. There are also some 'escorts' who claim that, when the price of oil is up, they make more money in Hustle Town than anywhere else.
Despite Houston's love of vice, the city's elected officials take a pretty dim view of anyone promoting prostitution and gambling.

According to the lawsuit, HPD made several visits to both Glamour Girls and the game room. Over a couple of years, undercovers made 18 arrests prostitution arrests at Glamour Girls.
The lawsuit also claims that five-oh saw something like six cash payouts at the game room. The alleged payouts led to two arrests for possession of a gambling device, don't worry Texas law doesn't consider a 20-sided die 'a gambling device.'
The suit names RMCT Game owner Sharif Kasim Ali, Glamour Girls owner Texley Inc. and Chong Chul Choe — the owner of the strip center that houses both Glamour Girls and the game room — as defendants.
So far the county attorney's office is only asking for a temporary injunction against both the club and the game room, but the end goal is to get both 'businesses' closed for at least a year.
