HOUSTON, TX — Houston Astros playoff baseball is here, and the team gets its 2019 postseason campaign underway on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Tickets are still available for Game 1 of the series.

On the other side of the ball, Justin Verlander was named the opening game starter by Manager A.J. Hinch. The right-handed pitcher has had another dominant year. Posting a 21-6 record with a career high 300 strikeout and a 2.58 ERA.
It doesn't get any easier for Tampa Bay hitters after Verlander. The formiddable duo of Gerrit Cole and Zach Greinke will most likely get the nods in Game 2 and 3.

The Rays also had a great regular season, finishing with a record of 96-66, before easily handling the Oakland Athletics in the one game AL Wild Card Round.
Even with Tampa Bay's success, the Astros are the undoubted favorite going into the matchup. The Houston team will look to avenge its second round playoff exit last year, and hopefully return to its World Series glory in 2017.
