Houston Man Charged With Shooting Homeless Man In Downtown

Jamin Stocker is accused of shooting a homeless man who may have been on his property: Cops.

HOUSTON, TX — Police are looking for a man who shot a homeless man near an encampment in downtown Monday night.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Rosewood around 10:30 p.m. Monday for a report of shots fired in the area.

Police said Jamin Stocker, 33, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he shot a homeless man, who is believed to be in his 50s, in the leg when he became upset that the man was on his property.

SWAT officers were called to the area to negotiate with Stocker, who police believed was barricaded inside.

Police made their way inside and found several weapons, but Stocker was not inside.

Homeowners have expressed frustration over the growing number of homeless congregating in a homeless encampment in the area, KTRK reported
