Houston PD Investigation Into Fatal Crash At 4700 West Loop South
The victim, Alvin Jefferson, 60, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

A male critically injured in a crash that occurred at 4700 West Loop South (West Interstate Highway 610 South) about 2:10 p.m. on April 18 has died from his injuries.

The victim, Alvin Jefferson, 60, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on May 2.

Mr. Jefferson was driving a red Ford Mustang northbound on the West Loop when it became disabled and stopped in the main lanes of the freeway. The driver of a white Chevrolet Silverado attempted to aid Jefferson and parked his truck in front of the Mustang the two began to attach towing straps from the Silverado to the Mustang. While Jefferson was under his Mustang attaching the straps, the driver of a grey Buick Regal failed to control his speed and struck the Mustang from behind. Jefferson was injured and transported to the hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet was injured but was treated at the scene and released.
The driver of the Buick remained at the scene.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
