Houston Restaurants Ranked Among America's Best
Houston, San Antonio, and Austin each had restaurants make Eater's 38 Essential Restaurants ranking.

HOUSTON, TX -- Two Houston restaurants were ranked among Eater's 38 Essential Restaurants, the most for any Texas city. Himalaya on 6652 Southwest Freeway and Xochi on 1777 Walker St. were named among a national ranking published by the food and dining website Tuesday.
Himalaya serves Indian and Pakistani cuisine. Eater writer Bill Addison specifically highlighted the "restaurant’s excellent, mildly spiced fried chicken."
Hugo Ortega and Tracy Vaught's Xochi opened in 2017 and has been a permanent fixture on top best restaurant lists since.

"Ortega and his chefs delve into Oaxaca’s earthy, exhilarating, spicy-sweet cuisine, with its color wheel of moles and its masa-based specialties shaped into irresistible geometries," Addison wrote on Eater.
Other Texas restaurants to make Eater's list were 2M Smokehouse in San Antonio and Franklin Barbecue in Austin.
