Houston Runoff Election: What's On The Ballot In 2019

Voters will take to the polls Saturday in the 2019 runoff election for mayor and several other local citywide races in Houston.

HOUSTON, TX — After neither candidate won a clear majority in the Houston mayoral election, residents will head to the polls on Saturday to cast their votes for mayor. Incumbent Mayor Sylvester Turner had 46 percent of the vote in the Nov. 5 election while challenger Tony Buzbee came in second with nearly 29 percent of the vote in the crowded race.

Early voting in the race took place starting Nov. 27 and the continued Dec. 2-10. Regular voting in the runoff election takes place Dec. 14.

Polls open at 7 a.m. on Saturday and close at 7 p.m. You can view a full list of polling locations via the Harris County Clerk's website. Residents don't have to go to a designated location to vote and can vote at any location that is serving as a voting center on Saturday.

The runoff election for the State House 148 seat will take place in January.
