Houston Texans Cut Former Top Pick Kevin Johnson
Kevin Johnson, who was drafted 16th overall by the Houston Texans in 2015, was released after four injury-plagued seasons.

HOUSTON — The Houston Texans released have released cornerback Kevin Johnson after four seasons, officials announced on Tuesday. Johnson, who the 16th player chosen in the 2015vNFL Draft.
Johnson, who only played in one full injury-free season in his four years with the Texans, appeared in 35 games, recorded one interception, 14 passes defensed and 122 tackles.
Johnson suffered a concussion last season and was placed on injured reserve.

“Kevin has had some tough luck the last few years," Texans General Manager Brian Gaine told the Houston Chronicle.
Johnson is free to test the free agent market and sign with the Texans at a lower rate.
