Houston's July 4th Fireworks: Celebrating American Independence

HOUSTON, TX — Independence Day is here and while most counties in the Houston area allow fireworks, most cities don't and will instead have public fireworks displays that are not only safe, but fun for the whole family.
Here are a few July 4th events happening in your community:
Houston:

Freedom over Texas|This year's festival has been cancelled and the fair grounds are closed to the public, however the fireworks show will be held at 9:30 p.m.

Humble/Kingwood/Atascocita: July 4th Festival| Town Center Park in Kingwood| Fireworks galore, and a lot more including bounce houses, games, food and drinks and live music are just a few of the entertainments and attractions this event offers. Grab a spot for the spectacular fireworks show and celebrate the national holiday with a bang. Come on and celebrate America's birthday from 2-9 p.m.
Pasadena/Baytown
Pasadena: Pasadena Fairgrounds and Convention Center|July 4th| Get ready for the City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation#Pasadena4thFest at @The Pasadena Convention Center and Municipal Fairgrounds. ***FREE ADMISSION!*** Live music, food, games, zip line action and FIREWORKS!!! Baytown: July 4th Parade| 2407 Market St, Baytown, Texas 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Clear Lake/Galveston/Kemah
Kemah: Morning events are cancelled, but the fireworks planned this evening at the boardwalk will still go on as scheduled.
Galveston: 179th City of Galveston Celebration Independence Day Parade and Fireworks| Galveston Island will celebrate its annual Independence Day with a parade featuring a procession of floats, decorated military vehicles, and performers. The parade will kick off at 7:30 p.m. with a procession on Seawall Boulevard starting at 59th Street and ending at 25th Street. After the parade, the island will host 20-minute fireworks show over the Gulf of Mexico at 9:15 p.m. near 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard.

- The 43rd Annual 4th of July Parade| Cancelled
- Red Hot And Blue Festival| Celebrate freedom in The Woodlands with great food, live entertainment, children’s activities and family fun at multiple locations throughout The Woodlands on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 from 6 to 10 p.m. This community-wide celebration offers fun for all ages.
The event culminates with the 18-minute Fireworks Extravaganza over The Woodlands at approximately 9:30 p.m. The 21st Annual Red, Hot and Blue Festival will be larger than ever before, with multiple event and fireworks launch locations throughout The Woodlands. Tomball: Plans to hold Tomball's annual July 4th Street Party were canceled Monday due to the threat of inclement weather.
Sugar Land|4th Fest at Constellation Field| Sugar Land, TX| Come out to Constellation Field for 4th Fest, a Fourth of July celebration featuring performances from the Cory Green Band, Mike and the Moonpies and Jason Boland & The Stragglers. Free and discounted tickets will be available to our Fourth of July celebration as a partnership with the City of Sugar Land. Stop by the TDECU box office and get your free tickets while supplies last as quantities are limited. Residents must have a Sugar Land water bill to receive up to four free tickets to the event or take advantage of our Sugar Land resident rate at only $7 per ticket for children or adults. Non-Sugar Land residents can purchase tickets at any time through the TDECU box office or at our official website (sugarlandskeeters.com). Tickets for children 12-and-under will be $8 and adult tickets will be $10. Parking for the event will be $5 per car.
Richmond|Celebrating July 4th| George Ranch Park| 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.| Nothing says America and July 4th like games, parades and hot dogs! Explore vintage games in every era, walk in our vintage wheels parade and grab a hot dog at our historic lunch. Enjoy this fun-filled day as we celebrate our country’s annual birthday with some old-fashioned game play.
Rosenberg: Rosenberg Family Fourth Celebration: Canceled due to expected heavy rain.
Missouri City| Cancelled
Katy| The Katy Freedom Celebration| The morning program has been cancelled because of the expected heavy rains. The evening program of fireworks and music will be held in the area near Typhoon Texas and Katy Mills Mall and will take place between 8 and 10 p.m.
Fulshear|Red, White and Boogie| The 11th Annual Fulshear Freedom Fest 4th of July Celebration brought to you by the City of Fulshear and the Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce will take place in historic downtown Fulshear on Sunday, July 1st from 6:00pm to 9:30pm. This year’s theme is “RED, WHITE & BOOGIE” featuring “LE FREAK, The Greatest Disco Band In The World” brought to you by our title sponsor Houston Methodist West Hospital on the main stage. On our secondary stage we will showcase Saenz Of The Time, a local band who love to rock the 70 to today's Rockin’ covers with a little bit of Country. There will be food trucks, vendors, activities for kids and a spectacular fireworks show. “We think we have one of the best free family events in Fort Bend County," advised Amy Norvell of the Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce.
