Houston's Wet Wednesday: Tropical System Could Cause Flooding
The National Weather Service issued issued a flash flood watch ahead of a tropical system that is expected to move through the Houston area.
HOUSTON — A tropical disturbance off the Mexican coast will be impacting Houston’s weather on Wednesday and Thursday. The National Weather Service issued issued a flash flood watch ahead of the tropical system that is expected to move through the Houston-Galveston area early Wednesday morning.
Meteorologists have been watching the system known as Invest 91L since the end of last week, and initially projected it would become the first named storm to form in the Gulf of Mexico this hurricane season.
This could still happen, with forecasters giving the tropical system a 50 percent chance of strengthening before it moves inland.
