Humble-Kingwood Jack and Jill Gets Reading Grant

The Humble-Kingwood chapter of Jack and Jill recently received a literacy grant.

Humble, TX -- The local chapter of Jack and Jill of America recently received a Reading Corner Literacy Grant from the Jack and Jill of America Foundation.

Although the Humble-Kingwood chapter has not disclosed the exact size of the maximum amount the foundation awards for Reading Corner Literacy Grants is $3,000.

The grants are awarded to local Jack and Jill chapters to support literacy efforts focused on students in grades K-3. The Humble-Kingwood chapter designed and built a reading corner at the Northeast Family YMCA.

The corner has a outdoorsy/camping theme and was created to link at-risk students ages 4 to 10 to high-interest literature, technology that supports literacy, as well as provide other educational experiences.
