Kanye West Performs For Inmates At Harris County Jail
The rapper brought his "Sunday church service" to the Harris County jail on Friday.
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — Rapper Kanye West and his choir performed for inmates at the Harris County jail on Friday.
Video posted by the Harris County Sheriff's Office shows highlights from West's visit where the artist is seen shaking hands with inmates and performing a concert in a small hall. The crowd can be seen dancing along and some moments show the inmates getting visibly emotional during the performance.
"I'm a lifelong law enforcement officer," Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales says in the video, addressing inmates while West is in the crowd.

"We need to be firm with crime, we want our community safe — everybody does — but we don't have to lose our humanity and our compassion."
West's stop at the jail on Friday comes ahead of his Sunday performance at Joel Osteen's megachurch in Lakewood. The artist has recently embraced Christianity and his latest album is titled "Jesus Is King."
