Lyft Announces Express Drive Program In Houston

Lyft exclusive weekly rate.

The company also released new insights, showing that Houston drivers have earned more than $850,000 through driving with Express Drive since its initial entry to the city.

This momentum shows Lyft’s continued commitment to investing in Houston’s drivers.

To date, Lyft drivers have earned over $450 million since the program started in 2016.

“Since the launch of the Express Drive program, we’ve seen significant growth in Houston’s rental interest and in driver earnings” said Kaleb Miller, General Manager of Lyft Gulf Coast. “The program is especially appealing due to its flexible, all-inclusive structure, which includes car rental, insurance, maintenance and unlimited miles. Even drivers who already own a car can use Express Drive if they want to avoid adding more mileage to their vehicle. This is just one of the ways that we continue to invest in the driver experience and find ways to help Lyft drivers earn more every day.”

The Express Drive program provides affordable access to rental cars, model year 2015 or newer, through a Lyft-exclusive starting weekly rental rate of $209 per week (plus applicable taxes and fees).

Express Drive offers Rental Rewards incentives that make renting the car through Lyft more affordable. If renters provide a certain number of rides to passengers each week and a $250 refundable deposit, the cost of the rental can drop as low as $59 in Houston.

Drivers can rent the car for as little as a week, making Express Drive perfect for someone who may not have access to a car or want to earn on a short-term basis.

Express Drive’s flexibility and inclusivity can save drivers up to $4,500 per year.

The Houston Express Drive locations will have Lyft representatives available to assist drivers
with the rental process.
