Mother Who Allegedly Drowned Children Facing Capital Murder Charges

A Houston mother that allegedly drowned her two children is facing capital murder charges.

HOUSTON, TX — Sheborah Thomas, 30, is facing capital murder charges in the deaths of her two children Kahana Thomas, 5, and Oraylyn Thomas, 7.

Thomas is accused of drowning both of the children in a bathtub and then disposing of the bodies by placing them in a space under a neighbor's house.

She allegedly told an acquaintance that she had drowned her children and had to leave town. The acquaintance initially thought Thomas was joking until he went over to her home and found her packing up to leave.

Thomas allegedly instructed the acquaintance about the location of the bodies. The acquaintance drove around the Third Ward neighborhood until he could flag down a police officer.

Thomas will be arraigned in state district court on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
