Longtime Fermi Lab Engineer dies at the age of 76 in Joliet, IL.

James A. Peifer

Age 76, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. Born and raised in Schererville, IN, he was the son of the late Alfred and Frances Peifer. James retired from Fermi National Accelerator Lab where he worked as an Engineer. He regularly attended St. Jude Catholic Church, Joliet, and was a member of the NRA.

Surviving are his partner, Jennifer Rapovich of Joliet, IL and his two daughters, Danielle (David) Olson of Spring, TX and Michelle (Kevin) Weido of Houston, TX. Grandchildren and many special friends also survive.

He was preceded by his parents; his brother, Robert; and his sister, Alice.

James had requested of his family that a very simple and private remembrance be held. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded. Fred C.
