Parents Charged After Daughter Dies From 96 Fractures, Police Say

Jason Paul Robin, 24, and Katharine Wyndham White, 21, allegedly inflicted 96 fractures to their infant daughter, police said.

HOUSTON — The parents of a 10-week-old girl who died last year after suffering dozens of fractures have been charged with her death, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Jason Paul Robin, 24, was charged with the murder of Jazmine Rose Robin, and the Katharine Wyndham White, 21, Jazmine’s mother has been charged with injury to a child by omission, prosecutors said.

"The evidence shows that Baby Jazmine fell victim to the very people who were supposed to protect her the most in this world," Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. "After a full and thorough investigation of the facts, we have filed charges, and will seek justice for young Jazmine."

Jazmine, who was born at just 29 weeks, had only been home with her parents a few days when she was brought into the emergency room at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, police said.

Houston Police were soon called to the hospital by staff who said the newborn infant had “clearly inflicted head trauma.”

Police questioned the couple, who described instances where Jazmine would not eat or stopped breathing, KPRC reported.

On Monday, police arrested Robin and charged him with murder. A day later, White was arrested. Both are being prosecuted by the Child Fatality Unit of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and face a possible life sentence if they are convicted.
