Pasadena Mom Wounded In Drive-By Shooting Dies Days Later

PASADENA, TX — A Pasadena mother who was shot in the head during a drive-by shooting last week, died from her injuries on Sunday. According to police, Rebeca Gomez was asleep in her home with her infant daughter and husband when someone fired a dozen bullets into their home.

One of the bullets narrowly missed the baby, asleep in her bassinet, by Gomez, who was the mother of four, was hit in the head by one of those bullets.

Gomez was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. She died on Sunday.

Family members set up a GoFundMe page to help raise $5,000 toward funeral expenses, and have raised just over $2,000 toward that goal as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Meanwhile, police are looking for any leads in identifying the suspects in the case and are asking for anyone video surveillance to call Pasadena Police at 713-477-1221 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
