Shane T. Frank writes about essential packing tips for business travel.

When traveling for business, you may find that your necessities are a little different than if you were traveling for a weeklong vacation. Business travel can take you to various locations for longer or shorter periods of time. Depending on the duration of your trip, and where you’re headed to, the way you pack may vary; however, generally, there are a few good packing hacks to keep in mind when you’re taking a business trip:
Prepare Your Essentials
If you're on a lengthier trip, you’ll want to make sure your essentials, such as toiletries, chargers and cables and any business supplies – like your business cards or general office supplies. These items won’t take up much space, but they are definitely an important part of your trip. Get those organized, and move on to your larger items. Additionally, make sure to store any liquid items in no more than a 3oz. container.
Use Carry-On or Small Luggage
Many avid business travelers will try to avoid the baggage claim area as best as possible. If you can, you’ll want to try and use only carry-on bags. Having to trek through an unfamiliar city with multiple luggage cases can be a lot to handle. Additionally, you want to do your best to avoid the possibility of having your luggage lost or misplaced. Lost luggage will cause unwanted stress and can potentially be detrimental to your entire trip.
Always Have Your Electronics
If you do have to check a bag or two, try and fit at least the majority of your essential electronic devices in your carry on. On a business trip, your electronics likely hold significant importance in that they may have important files and documents that you’ll need for meetings, presentations and any work you’ll have to complete throughout your trip. This way, if your luggage does get lost, you’ll still have everything you need for business purposes.
Professional and Casual
Your wardrobe for a business trip should be a mix of both professional and casual options. A majority of your time could likely be spent in meetings and with colleagues. However, you will have some downtime where you may not want to wear a suit and tie every day. In fact, your best bet is to limit your suits to one or two and use the rest of your space for other essentials.
