Shots Fired Near Northeast Houston Police Station
Multiple gunshots rang out just before 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Day near the patrol station, police officials said.

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police detained one person in connection with a shooting Thanksgiving Day near Houston Police Department's Northeast Patrol Station.
Multiple gunshots were fired just before 10 a.m. Thursday in the direction of the patrol station at 8301 Ley Road, Houston police said.
Two officers were in the back lot of the station when the shots were fired in their direction; the officers took cover and no one was hurt, Assistant Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said in a news conference about the shooting.

"We don't know if the suspect or suspects were just discharging in the air, but they were very close to the station and officers took cover," Finner said.
Houston police responded en masse to search the area, and took one possible suspect into custody, Finner said.
