Dog Attack Kills 33-Year-Old Woman In Irving
Both dogs were shot and killed Saturday following a brutal attack.

IRVING, TX -- The Irving Police Department is investigating a deadly dog attack that happened at about 11:45 a.m. in the 3000 block of N. O’Connor Road Saturday. Police were called to assist the Irving Fire Department at a veterinary clinic following a report of owner Johana Villafan needing medical attention, Frisco PD said in a news release.
"Staff reported that a dog owner had been attacked by her two pit bull terriers and appeared to be seriously injured. Both staff and paramedics attempted to intervene and rescue the owner but the dogs continued to exhibit aggressive behavior," Frisco PD added.
Officers arrived on scene and attempted to aid in the rescue but were unable to reach the victim. Because of the dogs continued aggression, an officer shot and killed both dogs, Frisco PD said. Both dogs had been quarantined at the vet clinic for observation due to a recent biting. Villafane was attacked when trying to feed both dogs at the clinic. She was pronounced dead at Parkland Hospital.
