Fatal Crash Closes Highway 161 In Irving
Drivers in southbound lanes will be forced to exit W. Northgate Drive. The closure is expected to last through the morning.

IRVING, TX — Police are working Tuesday morning to clear the scene of a crash on U.S. Highway 161 in Irving that left a pedestrian dead.
According to a report form KXAS, a person was trying to cross the street around 7:00 a.m. when he was struck by a passing car.
The driver stopped to help the pedestrian, but he was pronounced dead later.

The crash has all southbound lanes of 161 closed at W. Rochelle Road, and drivers are being forced to exit at W. Northgate Drive.
The road is expected to remain closed through the morning.
