Wrapping up its celebration of Women's History Month, the City of Irving features the first female police officer, Gloria Darnell Willingham. Learn how a young woman from Haskell, Texas, rose through the ranks of Irving Police to become a lieutenant.
During a time when most cities did not hire women police officers, Willingham found her way to Irving, and even graduated valedictorian from the police academy.
