Former East Hampton High School Teacher Named 'Local Hero'
Joan Mastromonaco was honored and East Hampton High School was given a $1,000 grant.

Paul Petrone grew up in Salem, graduated from the University of Connecticut and previously worked at The Day and The Bulletin before landing a job at Patch.com in 2010.
Paul originally worked as the local editor of Waterford Patch for 2 1/2 years. Since, he has run the Montville Patch, worked as a field editor and now runs 16 Patch sites throughout Connecticut as a curation editor.

Katherine Hackett, a mother of two men who served in the military, has been unemployed for 13 months and her benefits are about to run out.
Arrest reports are provided by the Orange Police Department. An arrest does not signify a conviction.
Joseph Haddad, 65, of Orange has plead guilty today to federal charges.
Lawrence McIntosh has been missing since Tuesday.
The ban will last until Saturday.
