My professional background has been in newspapers, where I covered courts, crime, schools and government. Before moving to the Pointes, I worked in Indiana covering crime, criminal & civil state courts and a federal district court for six years.

Grosse Pointe Woods City Administrator Al Fincham said Wednesday that he questions why one downed power line was enough to bring down the entire grid north and east of Mack and Vernier. It is among the many questions he's posing to DTE.
The same neighborhood northeast of Mack Avenue and Vernier Road is out of power and the estimated restoration is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to DTE's outage map.
