- Alexandria, Va., Digs $615 Million Tunnel to Fix Its Sewage Overflows: Alexandria, VA is tackling sewage overflows with a $615 million tunnel project. The tunnel, dug by Hazel the Tunnel Boring Machine, spans 2.2 miles beneath the Potomac River and the oldest part of the city. (sej.org)
