• City planning CAT service improvement over the next four years (cvillerightnow.com) — Charlottesville is planning a major boost to Charlottesville Area Transit, aiming to grow from 66 to 108 drivers over the next four budget years and restore Sunday service by Year 3. City manager Sam Sanders says transportation, along with housing, safety, and schools, will drive upcoming budgets, including a shift to zero-emission buses and a new maintenance facility.

• Culpeper District Weekly Traffic Alert: Dec. 15–19, 2025 (virginia.gov) — VDOT is outlining next week’s construction and maintenance plans across its Culpeper District, which includes Albemarle and other nearby counties, while noting that Charlottesville maintains its own roads. Residents can check 511 Virginia, traffic apps, and social media for live updates, cameras, and paving status maps. It’s a useful heads-up if you’re driving in surrounding counties for work or errands.

• UVA's Miller Center discusses role of rural vs. urban divide in political polarization (29news.com) — A public panel at UVA’s Miller Center in Charlottesville dug into how the growing rural–urban divide is fueling political polarization and what might help bridge it.
