• Global affairs grad encourages others to give back to their communities (gmu.edu) — A Chesapeake native is wrapping up her global affairs degree at George Mason University after creating an anti-bullying workshop for middle schoolers and serving in multiple campus leadership roles. She’s now headed into a competitive accelerated master’s program in public administration, hoping to keep giving back to communities like the one she grew up in.
   

• HRS: Joining hands to help the community (wavy.com) — A regional nonprofit that repairs homes for elderly, disabled, and low-income residents is actively seeking volunteers for its Chesapeake location, giving locals a way to directly help neighbors in need. Faith Works Coalition has already assisted more than 2,000 households with safety repairs and accessibility upgrades and now invites Chesapeake residents to get involved by calling their local office or signing up online.
