• Global affairs grad encourages others to give back to their communities (gmu.edu) — A Chesapeake native is wrapping up her global affairs degree at George Mason University after creating an anti-bullying workshop for middle schoolers and serving in multiple campus leadership roles. She’s now headed into a competitive accelerated master’s program in public administration, hoping to keep giving back to communities like the one she grew up in.
   

• HRS: Joining hands to help the community (wavy.com) — A regional nonprofit that repairs homes for elderly, disabled, and low-income residents is actively seeking volunteers for its Chesapeake location, giving locals a way to directly help neighbors in need.
