Arrest Made In Fairfax City Hit And Run Case: Police
Arlington County Police arrested a Stafford man Wednesday in connection with a May 11 hit and run incident in Fairfax City.

FAIRAX CITY, VA — A Stafford man was charged with felony hit and run and assault Wednesday in connection with a May 11 altercation at a Fairfax City intersection, according to City of Fairfax Police Department release.
Following an investigation, police determined that in the early morning hours of May 11, at the intersection of Maple Street and Crest Street, the suspect stopped his vehicle next to the victim's vehicle due to a disagreement. After making derogatory remarks at the victim, the suspect threw a drinking container at the victim, hitting the them in the face, according to police. Putting his vehicle in reverse, the suspect struck the front end of the victim's vehicle and then drove away without identifying himself.
On Wednesday, Arlington County Police arrested Cody J. Smith, 27, of 2117 Garrisonville Road in Stafford. They charged him with felony hit and run and assault and battery. Smith is being held on a $2,000 unsecured bond at the Arlington County Adult Detention Center.
