City Of Fairfax Requesting Input On Conceptual Plans For Proposed Transportation Projects

The projects include a new sidewalk and bus stop improvements on Chain Bridge Road between Taba Cove and Warwick Ave.

6/3/2020 - 4:54 PM

The City is requesting your input on conceptual plans for two new proposed transportation projects: 1) a new sidewalk and bus stop improvements on Chain Bridge Road between Taba Cove and Warwick Ave and 2) a new trail between Country Club Commons and Fairfax Blvd. The City is planning to submit funding applications for these two projects in August. If the City is awarded funding for one or both projects, the money would become available in 2026 and the project(s) would be constructed in 2028 or 2029. At this point, the City has developed only general concept plans that show the approximate alignment of the two projects. The detailed engineering and aesthetic details would be completed if/when the City receives the funding. The City would like feedback from residents prior to submitting the applications this summer.
